Spotted this downtown yesterday. The car was covered with 'Electronaut' stickers, which apparently means he's part of some BMW program to test their EVs.
Overall impressions:
-On the street, it definitely stands out as something new and futuristic. It was getting some confused stares from the people that passed by.
-It's never been a pretty car. I think they kept it kind of pudgy to make people lust after the i8 that much more.
-The wheels are mighty large for a car of its size. That's definitely a holdover from the concept but it's noticeable. The MX-5 behind it looked like a go-kart by comparison.
-It's weird to see the BMW kidneys without any actual grille in them.
-I sat in one of these at the NYIAS, but the interior continues to impress me. All that 'raw' wood is very cool.
I wonder how popular these will get in NYC!

I also love how it's still RWD and how it beats an E92 M3 from 0-30mph.

Yeah. That's exactly it. The acceleration is just unbelievable. It's like nothing I've ever driven before ever. So damn cool.

I saw a dark gray one of these on Thursday but I was sitting down to dinner with the gf so I couldn't snap a pic. It was parked at a charge station and plugged in. I was surprised by all the attention it got. People you wouldn't normally expect to see ogling a car were giving it heavy attention. When I first saw it I thought it quite ugly. However, over the course of the dinner with it in my peripherals, it grew on me quickly. The front is like a bulldog and the rear end is quite attractive. I'm just glad they didn't make another car shaped like a prius/insight/volt/leaf, that wedge design is so tired. The wheels are huge and awesome. I didn't realize it's rwd....but now that I do I want it alot. It's an Electric BMW rwd hot hatch...that's so fucking cool.

shhhhhuuuuuuttttt the fuck up. I didn't not know that.... I have many wants for this car it really hits all my key areas...just wish electric cars had the infrastructure available to be my only car

Saw one of these in orange today.
I wanted to drive into it to see if it explodes into a million carbon fiber pieces like F1.

I've seen a silver and orange one in motion. Both while in my family's Leaf.
